Specifications for the use of polypropylene color masterbatches!

Polypropylene color masterbatches are the key materials for coloring polypropylene fibers. They are produced by processing a high proportion of pigments, dispersants, and polypropylene carrier resin. The standardization of their usage and storage directly affects the color quality and production stability of the fiber products. 

I. Specifications for Using polypropylene color masterbatch

Pre-treatment: Before use, the color masterbatch should be thoroughly dried in a dry environment (recommended temperature range: 80-90℃, duration: 2-4 hours) to remove moisture. This prevents the formation of bubbles or broken fibers during filament spinning. 

Mix thoroughly: Mix in an exact proportion (usually 1%-4%) with polypropylene pellets. Use a mechanical stirrer or a dedicated mixing equipment to ensure the dispersion of the masterbatch is uniform and to avoid color differences. 

Temperature control: During the spinning process, the melting temperature (typically 200-260℃) is strictly monitored. If the temperature is too high, it may cause the pigments to degrade and change color; if it is too low, the dispersion will be uneven. 

Cleaning and material replacement: When changing colors or batches, the screw and hopper must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent contamination with impurities. 

II. Storage Requirements for polypropylene color masterbatches

Moisture-proof sealing: The color masterbatch should be stored in a cool and dry place with a relative humidity of less than 50%. The packaging should be double-layer moisture-proof sealed. Any unused material after opening should be re-sealed or transferred to a sealed container. 

Protect from light and prevent oxidation: Avoid direct sunlight as ultraviolet rays may cause changes in the molecular structure of the pigments. It is recommended to use light-protective packaging materials and install light-blocking curtains in the warehouse. 

Classification storage: Store by color and batch, with clear labels (including production date, brand name, and color code), following the "first in, first out" principle to prevent aging over time. 

Environmental Control: The temperature in the warehouse should be maintained between 15-30℃. It should be kept away from heat sources, acidic and alkaline substances to prevent the formation of lumps due to high temperature or chemical corrosion.
