The use and storage of Polypropylene fiber masterbatch!

Polypropylene fiber masterbatch is a key material for coloring polypropylene fibers, which is made by processing a high proportion of pigments, dispersants and polypropylene carrier resins. The standardization of its use and storage is directly related to the color quality and production stability of fiber products.

I. Specifications for the Use of Polypropylene fiber masterbatch

Pretreatment: Before use, the color masterbatch should be thoroughly dried in a dry environment (recommended at 80-90℃ for 2-4 hours) to remove moisture and prevent the formation of bubbles or broken threads during spinning.

Mix evenly: Mix evenly with polypropylene chips in an exact proportion (usually 1%-4%). Use mechanical stirrers or dedicated mixing equipment to ensure uniform dispersion of masterbatches and avoid color differences.

Temperature control: During the spinning process, the melting temperature (typically 200-260℃) is strictly monitored. If the temperature is too high, it may cause pigment degradation and discoloration; if it is too low, the dispersion will be uneven.

Cleaning and material change: When switching colors or batches, the screw and hopper must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent contamination by other colors.

Ii. Storage Requirements for Polypropylene fiber masterbatch

Moisture-proof and sealed: Color masterbatches should be stored in a cool and dry place with a relative humidity of less than 50%. The packaging should be double-layered moisture-proof and sealed. Any unused materials after opening should be re-sealed or transferred to a sealed container.

Avoid light and oxidation: Keep away from direct sunlight as ultraviolet rays may cause changes in the molecular structure of pigments. It is recommended to use light-blocking packaging materials and install light-blocking curtains in the warehouse.

Classified storage: Store by color and batch in separate areas with clear labels (including production date, brand, and color number), following the "first in, first out" principle to prevent aging due to long-term storage.

Environmental control: The temperature in the warehouse should be maintained at 15-30℃, kept away from heat sources and acidic or alkaline substances to prevent high-temperature caking or chemical corrosion.
