He encouraged industry enterprises to view the staged problems encountered in the development of the industry correctly and in the long term, and pointed out that the innovation capability of China's non-woven fabric manufacturing enterprises is still far behind that of developed countries such as the United States and Japan. Scientific and technological innovation, efforts to improve the level of intelligent manufacturing, focus on the development of degradable "disposable" non-woven products and durable non-woven products, and promote the green development of the industry. Finally, he concluded that technology, green, smart manufacturing, and global distribution are the future trends of the nonwovens industry.

At present, the macro industrial environment and environmental protection policies faced by the industry development have put forward new requirements for the development of the nonwovens industry. These new requirements and innovations in nonwoven products are inseparable from equipment upgrades and process practices. It is hoped that with this conference platform, upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain will be able to focus on hot topics such as smart manufacturing, environmental protection and non-woven fabrics. Innovative technologies such as processing will be fully explored to jointly promote the development of the industry.

Chen Lidong, president of the Intermediate Co-spun Viscose Nonwovens Branch, made a 2018 work report at the meeting. He pointed out that in 2017, China's spunbonded nonwovens industry showed a steady and advanced trend. The total capacity of spunbond and meltblown nonwovens for the whole year was 4.2 million tons, up 5.5% year-on-year; the actual output reached 2.87 million tons. The growth rate has slowed down by 5.67% year-on-year; 40 new production lines have been added, of which the online composite SMS non-woven fabric production line has increased by more than 20%; the process of large-scale and intensive development of enterprises is accelerating. From the perspective of the terminal application market, the medical and health field is still the most important application field of spun-melt nonwovens, accounting for 28% of the total non-woven fabric market share; due to the benefits of the “Belt and Road” construction and environmental protection policies, waterproof PET is long. The silk fabric base fabric market is in the ascendant; the traditional product packaging spunbond nonwoven fabrics have maintained steady development due to the diversity and extensiveness of market demand.

At the same time, he said that the spunbonded nonwovens industry has made great progress in product innovation and equipment upgrade in recent years. The raw materials and functions of the products are increasingly diversified; the equipment is not only high-speed, high-yield, intelligent, safe and energy-saving. Innovative design, and innovative design around the market, developed a two-component filter material production line, non-woven Y-rolling mill, spunbond wood pulp composite production line, side-by-side two-component hot air consolidation equipment. However, the industry still faces shortcomings and challenges in terms of structural overcapacity, equipment upgrades, international trade frictions, and talent team building.
