Classification and Characteristics of SMS Composite Nonwoven Fabric Special Masterbatch:
1. Water Repellent Masterbatch
Mechanism of action: It imparts excellent water-repellent properties to inherently hydrophilic PP/PE fibers. This causes water droplets to bead up and roll off the fabric surface without penetrating, while maintaining the micro-porous breathability.
Product characteristics： The addition amount is usually around 3% - 7%， with stable and long-lasting water repellent effect； does not affect the softness and breathability of the nonwoven fabric， resistant to washing and friction.
Application scenarios： Anti-sideslip edge for baby diapers， backsheet for sanitary napkins， outer layer of medical protective clothing， etc.
2. Fiber Reinforced Masterbatch
Mechanism of action: By adding polymer modifiers, the crystalline structure and molecular chain orientation of PP fibers are improved, thereby enhancing the tensile strength and elongation of the fibers.
Product characteristics: A low addition amount (such as 1%-3%) can significantly improve the longitudinal and transverse strength of non-woven fabrics; resistant to yellowing and aging, and does not affect the soft touch of the fabric surface.
Application scenarios: Industrial filter materials, packaging SMS, high-strength protective clothing, etc.
3. Anti-static Water Pressure Masterbatch
Mechanism of action: Optimizes the uniformity of the network formation and pore structure of the ultra-fine fibers in the melt-blown layer, reduces melt droplets and broken fibers, thereby significantly enhancing the ability of non-woven fabric to resist liquid penetration.
Product features: Can enable the static water pressure test of SMS non-woven fabric to reach above 300mm water column or even higher; has good dispersion, without black spots or crystal points, and extends the replacement cycle of the spinneret plate.
